Welcome to the South West Child Health Services website where you will find health information and news for parents and carers of children. The Western Australian Department of Health is here to support you to raise a happy and healthy child.

Community Child Health Nurses are employed by the Department of Health and work in local child health centres and schools. As registered nurses with qualifications in child health, they offer an initial home visit to all parents of a new born baby in WA as well as health and development checks at key stages in your child’s first three years of life. They can also assist in the key aspects of parenting and family health and are able to link you to agencies, groups in your community, and also other health professionals when needs arise.
